The draft makes me think of the 1996-97 NBA season when David Robinson of the Spurs got hurt and was out for most of the season. The Spurs ended up with one of the worst records in the NBA and ended up in the lottery and then..WALAH!! they draft a kid name Tim Duncan in the '97 draft and the rest is history. If David Robinson would not have gotten hurt, the Spurs would not have Tim Duncan right now. Its really become a crap-shoot.
You all know that song from "pulp Fiction"..."Ci`e la` vie`..you know you never can tell..
'cuz you never can. Part of all of this is intangebilles of human perserverance, desire:
my dad likes to say:
"any damn great team can be beat by a good team that shows up & wants it more right then dammit!"
not that he's buddhist or anything..quite the opposite...
but how players become pros is different for every player. Too much pressure for some; & they can fold, & underperform; or get traded into a different coaching system(of course, boris Diaw is leaping into my head here) or others can not be drafted like ben wallace & become great players. You never can tell, really. It's dichotomous.
