Congrats to DeMya Walker in the birth of her child today. She's on maternity leave for now, but I'm sure she'll be back quickly, she has to much to be away for long!
Now that the WNBA draft has passed, Monarchs fans won't have long to wait...let's get another banner to hang next to 2005!!Go Monarchs!!Beat L.A.!!!!!
Rhondda, do you think De Mya will be back as soon as Tina Thompson was?
One could hope so, huh? That took alot of sacrifice on Tina's part, she had to take her baby on the road & her mon helped out too, going on the road with her. That has to be pretty tough. But De Mya certainly is that isn't she? she was the heart of defensive encouragement in the huddle of that final possession in the last game for the Championship.
I still remember her voice to her teammates:defend the 3!

That's true, things that male atheletes don't have to worry about.
I'm worried about the possibility of John Whisenant being the King's coach as well as the monarch's coach. Not that he couldn't coach the Boys, who cares that they(the girls) wear sports bras instead of jockstraps; but it doesn't seem right to take the coach of the championship team and have him coach the less successful team; I think it takes away from the monarchs, and i would like the boys to have a different coach.
Rhondda; do you have the words to your monarch's song yet?

I worry about Whiz doing both too, but not because what some of the Dudes that say "the players aren't gonna listen to the girl's coach 'cuz' he doesn't have NBA player experience".
Bill Lameer has NBA player experience & a ring as a player, but his Detroit Shock didn't win the championship last year; Whiz's Monarchs did, so there!
Thought it interesting to hear kara lawson say last night that "it's the players responsibility to listen to the coach if they know what's good for them"...
Indeed. & i do have some monarch song lyrics, but I'm sooooo tired from the 5 gigs I had this weekend i can't think straight right now, I'll post some more tommorrow.
