So what did you all think of katie Smith tonight?Ain't she terrific?
Yeah, she was terrific for your team. The whole Detroit team just outplayed the Monarchs. Do you think that Bill Lambeer will EVER talk to ESPN again?? He wouldn't be interviewed and he wouldn't let ESPN reporters in their practices the last couple of days. And..BAMM!! For some reason it got his team going. BUT! This series is not over yet!! The Shock have STILL have to win one more game. And we all saw what Sacramento did to them in Game #1. So, the Monarchs can win in Detroit.
Hiccup! So we've got some hair of the dog action going after last night's blowout...er...game; here at the Valley Brew with 4 simultaneous T.V's and alot of 'anonymous' Sports reporters...your turn; Nostra Drillah....
Funny thing about this series...here we were all expecting close games & instead it's been blowout after blowout...drillah says, what the hell?
& another thing...considering the coaching prowess of Bill Laimeer & john Whisenhunt; why-the-hell weren't they hired to field the Men's teams?Yeah; we know the girls wear sports bras instead of jock-straps but what a bunch of nancy boys if the guys can't takedirections from the girls coaches. Drillah predicts that 1)If the shock were to win; ol' flipper better start looking over his shoulder, &2)if the Monarchs win again...(sigh!)can't the new King's coach be 'let go' retroactively?no?Sure he can!Wasn't that what they told poor ol' Ricky-don't-lose-that-number?
O.K., I coulda started a thread called Shock Wins; but we've been friends you all for a year; I ain't gonna gloat.
But I tould you all so. & no offense to Tischa Peinichiero; she's a good defender & disher, but she's no Katie Smith shooting wise. I think it hurt the Monarchs in the 3rd quarter when she was in & sac was forced to play their offense as 4 against 5; since no-one needed to guard Peinichiero. Coach Whisenhunt shoulda put Haynie in sooner. she should be your point guard . & she's from Michigan, so I like her too.
I 'd just as soon joe Dumars dumped Flip for Bill as coach.he's obviously a better motivator, say what you all want about his complaining to the refs, it worked.
& hopefully Yo will come back for you next year.I did feel sorrt for her a little bit, but...
THE DETROIT SHOCK!!!2006 WNBA CHAMPS!!!!DEE---TROIT BASKETBALL!!!!!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS SWEETY TWEETY MVP NOLAN!! YOU WERE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I tell you, in my opinion what killed the Monarchs' chances in today's final ballgame....KATIE SMITH!!!! The Monarchs cut the lead to 3 points when Smith hit that big shot. When she hit that shot, it was basically over. Doesn't Cheryl Ford resemble her dad when you look at her face?? Of course her dad is Karl Malone. Gongratulations to the Detroit Shock!! They earned it. I'm still proud of the Monarchs for getting this far. It does hurt a little bit though..

Katie is a terrific player. I like tweety Nolan too, she actually shoots with the elevation of an NBA player.
Since I didn't retire till I was 40; no reason that Yo has to yet.True, being a shooting guard is not the same as playing center; but she could maybe play a few more years if she wants too.
Hope you all are well; except for Chuck; I don't worry about him.
